• A 'Naturopathic Doctor' (ND) is a licensed medical professional who has completed a rigorous and accredited naturopathic medical program. These programs cover extensive coursework in both conventional medical sciences and natural therapies. Naturopathic Doctors are primary health-care providers who are trained to diagnose, manage, and prevent a wide range of health conditions using natural approaches. They  undergo licensing exams and adhere to a strict code of ethics and standards of practice.

• A 'Naturopath' typically refers to an individual who practices Naturopathy.  A Naturopath may have varying levels of training, which can range from short courses to more comprehensive education. However, the title 'Naturopath' is not a regulated medical profession in all jurisdictions.

• Naturopathic Medicine services are covered by most insurance companies and extended health care plans.
• Functional laboratory tests are not covered under OHIP
• Extended health care benefits may or may not cover functional lab testing.
